ABOUT THE ARTIST

No eyebrow is the same which means each client deserves unique unsurpassed artistry and care to acheive their desired look. I firmly believe it takes a special hand and eye to achieve this. Drawing, painting, and sculpting from childhood, art runs in my veins. My Grandmother is a fine arts teacher in Palos Verdes, CA and all my sisters are artists as well. For years I've always wanted to channel my aesthetic abilities into making people happy. Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA I've been in Tampa half my life and have proudly made it my home. Aside from enhancing eyebrows I'm into drawing/sketching, yoga, exercising, upcycling, sewing, clean eating, going to flea markets, cooking, and fulfilling diy crafts whenever I can.   --Michelle

Why me?

As Microblading grows in popularity and becomes the preferred method of brow treatment over permanent tattooing, so will the population of Microblading artists. Not all Microblading is created equal. There is no set standard for Microblading. Just like conventional tattoo artists, brow artists have their own technique and unique artistic style. There are thousands of trainers worldwide all delivering courses in a wide range in quality and critieria. When searching for the right artist one must do research. Other than being licensed, FHD inspected, and experienced, here are a few not-so-obvious questions to ponder when selecting the right artist that best suits you:

QUESTIONS TO THINK ABOUT WHEN LOOKING FOR A MICROBLADE ARTIST:

Does the artist fully understand anatomical proportions; maps the brow beautifully using calipers and measuring devices to ensure the absoulte balanced set of brows for your face? Does she utilize the Golden Ratio proportion?

Are the strokes created by the blade straight and rigid or soft and curved? Do they mimic and blend with your hairs or just simply straight lines? Do the stroke directions flow with the natural growth of your brow hairs or go against it?

Does the artist have a "heavy hand?" A stroke too deep will result in a cooler tone, almost blue-gray tone, and will thicken resulting in a harsh and dark look.

How about color theory? Does she know using a "cool" pigment in a "cool" skin tone with heal blues and grays in the skin? What about understanding and practicing the core fundamentals of the Fitzpatrick scale?

PIGMENTS! This is very important. Is the artist familiar with her pigments. Will the pigments break down in the skin over the years and turn red, purple, green, grey? Are there iron-oxides in her pigments? Are they organic pigments? Synthetic blend, does the artist even know the difference? How will the brows look in 1 year, 2 years, 3 years? Thick and muddy or soft and natural?

Does this artist have versatility? Is her portfolio consisting of brow sets that are all shaped similarly? Are they all full with a thick tail, or does she provide a range of shapes and styles of brow sets to fit each individual's bone structure and face shape?

Who trained her? Was she trained by a pioneer in the field of permanent makeup or by a self proclaimed master?

There is no standard for microblading; meaning not all microblade artist are created equal. Do your research. Every microblade artist has their own technique.

Here is an image of a practice brow pattern I made on latex. Notice the natural flow of the brow hairs. The strokes should mimic real hair. They should be perfectly imperfect, just like real hairs.
